Hello again.
This is a project I’ve been working on in my free time for the past year. Now that I have graduated and I’ve outgrown my old blog, it’s time for me begin!
Welcome to ilLudological, a multimedia essay project. Zines, websites, journals, essays, games. Think of this as a living document of my obsession for games.
Previously, I have had conversations, discord chats, eclectic notes in my journals, but I feel the need to put all these ideas down somewhere, and I needed an audience who was not captive to my ramblings (Mom, I am so sorry). I have other reasons for this as well:
- My writing skills. I would like to get better at criticism and at writing, I have been in a slump and noticed my skills degrading. I’ve taken up journaling and been able to develop my skill again, so this site is part of this journey.
- Longevity and centrality, I need a place that will last and a place I can show people my work. Not terribly practical to carry around 5 journals is it?
- Finally, I need a space where I can talk about game design and creation as a craft, as a way for me to grow as a game designer and critic.

Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you poppets around,
